This "quick start" user's guide is a distillation of the introductory sections of the online help, with getting started information, basic program operations, data entry "how-to's", explanations of the various program functions, and frequently asked questions. The guide is formatted to produce a 16-page fold-over booklet when printed on standard letter-sized paper.
The guide is available in two formats, Adobe Acrobat PDF or Microsoft Word. I recommend Adobe PDF format because it is a smaller download, easier to print, and the print quality is better than Word.
Acrobat Reader is free and integrates with your web browser. If you don't have it, I recommend that you obtain it by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
The APK© user's guide is formatted to produce a fold-over booklet. To prepare the booklet, print one-half of the pages, put these pages into your printer's paper tray, then print the remaining pages on the blank side:
HP Ink-jet printers: just put the printed pages 1-6 into your printer's "paper tray" (printed side up). It's that simple folks!
HP Laser printers: an additional step is needed. Reverse the order of the printed sheets then put them into your printer's "paper tray" (printed side up).
Hint: If you are using cheap, light weight paper in a laser printer, the pages may curl after printing on one side. The curled sheets may get jammed the second time through, therefore, you may want to feed only one sheet at a time.
If you have Adobe Acrobat installed, your web browser will automatically load the User's Guide.
If you have MS Word 97 installed, your web browser will automatically load the User's Guide.
